Why does florida water taste so bad?

Depending on where you are in Florida the water has different problems. In most of Florida there is Tanin in the water, that’s the yellowing you see. It’s not supposed to hurt you, and it’s not supposed to have any scent, but something smells odd about the water here.
In some areas the water comes from aquifers that are partly brackish, meaning contain some saltwater from the oceans. Underneath Florida is a large water system, as rain and use fluctuate the salt advances or retreats, and many areas have treatment systems to purify it. The problem is the purification leaves a distinct smell, and taste.
