Why Am I Always So Thirsty??
I drink about 124 ounces of water daily.
I eat very little sodium (under 1000 mg- very hard to do!)
I had my glucose levels checked twice in the past 2 months so I know it is not diabetes
I am thirsty and have dry mouth often.
What else can it be?
Diabetes insipidus. - this form of diabetes is not characterized by elevated blood glucose levels, instead there is a deficiency of anti-diuretic hormone (ADH). The cardinal symptom is excessive thirst and highly dilute, frequent urine output. When you get dehydrated, you should normally urinate less and your urine should become more concentrated (clear<yellow<orange<brown). If you have diabetes insipidus your urine will remain dilute (due to the lack of ADH) and you will continue urinating as if you weren’t dehydrated.
So, first I say see your doctor, but as an experiment go 10-12 hours without drinking anything and see if your urine continues to be dilute or if it becomes more concentrated.

Dry mouth can sometimes be from side affects of certain medications or drugs.
The way you breath can also be a cause of your mouth feeling dry, (if you normally breathe through your mouth and not your nose).
It can also be a symptom of nutritional deficiencies (vitamin, riboflavin and Vitamin A).
You should see a doctor if you experience other symptoms along with this one, or if it begins to bother you.
