How can the US recover from the economic slowdown?

What should be done to fix the economic problems that are occurring in the American economy today? What should the government do (or not do) to deal with the slowdown?

Change the Feds policy’s of easy money, decrease the trade deficit, increase interest rates so foreigners put their money in America, also America needs to start making products that the world wants like new technology.

The economy will pickup on it’s own. Any more government fiddling and they will screw it up all the more.

kick starting the economy is really very simple. protect the value of the currency by providing a stable long term value. eliminate taxes on capital creation ie the capital gains tax. lower tax rates across the board 30%. these simple steps would create a miracle comeback in the US economy or any other economy for that matter.
